By testing out different plants in different environments, scientists begin to understand how to genetically engineer plants so they can thrive in places that have been severely impacted by climate change. It might seem a little wild to take a plant into space to figure out how to better cultivate it on earth, but of any plant to help us through the apocalypse, cannabis might be our golden ticket. Hemp plants breathe in four times more carbon dioxide than trees, and absorbs C02 while it grows – making it carbon negative.

Despite all the hype and excitement being generated around space travel, we’ve gotta say… we really do love Earth. There isn’t anywhere like it, and we’d love to stay.
